Your family's information, handled like it matters
Ourday holds schedules, school documents, health appointments, and the small private texture of a family's life. That's not ordinary app data, and we don't treat it like ordinary app data. Here's exactly what we do and don't do, in plain language.
Your family's history stays as long as you want. That includes the emails you forward, the sources you've shared the family address with, the events you tell us about, and everything else you choose to share. We ask before we delete.
What happened, stays happened. We don't quietly rewrite your family's history when calendars change.
We extract what matters from your kids' school documents and don't keep the documents themselves.
Photos and attachments don't stick around
When you send a photo of a flyer or a PDF from the school, Ourday reads it, keeps the useful facts, and discards the document itself. The file is destroyed within seven days using key destruction, which makes it unrecoverable, not just deleted. If your family wants the extracted text kept longer, say so; otherwise it clears too.
No tracking, and we mean the whole sentence
We don't track whether you opened a briefing, what you clicked, or how long you read. There are no read receipts, engagement scores, or advertising pixels anywhere in Ourday, including this website. The only thing we pay attention to is what your family chooses to send in, because that's the job.
We don't show ads, we don't sell or share your family's information for marketing, and we don't take commissions for recommending things. You pay us. That's the entire business model, and it's why we can make these promises.
Built with kids in mind, and the law that protects them
Ourday works with information about children, so COPPA applies to us, and we built for it rather than around it. A parent or guardian signs the family up, consents explicitly, and confirms that consent by email before anything begins. Information about younger kids defaults to the adults in the family, and kids grow into wider access as their parents decide. Sensitive things, like medical notes or school support plans, default to the narrowest audience automatically.
When you say delete, it deletes
Ask us to delete something and we will, after confirming we understood you right. If your family leaves Ourday, the same promise covers everything.
The boring important parts
Payments run through Stripe; card details never touch Ourday's systems. Texting runs through carrier-verified channels. This website loads no third-party trackers, no analytics pixels, and no advertising scripts. The full legal detail lives in our privacy policy, and if you have a question this page doesn't answer, write to hello@ourday.today and a person will answer it.
